Yes, but it's not been posted to the Ancients threads. I didn't even know there was a "science" section. Who knew? FWIW, I'm not going to go searching throughout TMP to see if something I find as interesting has been posted before. If I don't see it on the Ancients section, or the American Civil War section, then to me, it doesn't exist and is worth posting about. V/R |

I know part of my dislike of no cross-posting between TMP+ and the main forum. x42 |

FWIW, I'm not going to go searching throughout TMP to see if something I find as interesting has been posted before. Exactly my attitude. I can never understand why something interesting should be confined to one thread. The more the merrier. |

Good to have this post and great that they have found Angelina. |

No, I'm sorry agreeing with the OFM is not allowed. Please take the line to the left for immediate crucifixion. |

It used to be a 25 minute DH. I had no idea it had escalated to crucifixion!!! |
RavenscraftCybernetics | 15 Nov 2014 5:26 p.m. PST |
Actually, crucifixtion was a compromise. |

Yes, I am given to understand that originally it was Crucifixion with Bricola……. |

Is it possible that this is Alexander or has that already been ruled out? |
BigRedBat | 16 Nov 2014 4:11 a.m. PST |
Hi Mick, it's very unlikely to be Alexander as he was buried in Alexandria, and the body was still there much later to be visited by Caesar and Augustus. I have heard it suggested that the Macedonian tomb might have been built to receive his body, though… |

Hi Mick, it's very unlikely to be Alexander as he was buried in Alexandria, and the body was still there much later to be visited by Caesar and Augustus. I have heard it suggested that the Macedonian tomb might have been built to receive his body, though… Well, everyone says that, but no one can be positive. After all, it was in Ptolemy's interest to have Alexander's body and mausoleum in Alexandria. Being located there, it would support Ptolemy's claim to be Alexander's heir, add legitimacy, etc. Portions of Philip's skeleton survive. If it's possible to get DNA from that, and from these newly found bones, then that should put an end to things. I am open to this possibly being Alexander's actual resting place, and the bones therein his remains. there is much work to do to come close to proving it, but considering how little we REALLY know about Alexander's life, campaigns & death, I would not rule it out just yet. |
