Avast ye lubbers! Press gangs are now at large in this port seeking to enlist playtesters for Galleys & Galleons, a tabletop wargame for wee ships in the Age of Discovery for Ganesha Games.

Thank you all those who have emailed, I will respond presently.

Setting up a game now! Are you jealous? I would be. Because it's awesome. Time to buckle some swash!

I've ordered some Peter Pig ships so at least I'll be able to playtest these rules with 'real lead' (and resin) rather than the MDF counters I used for IW!

I've a pile of Ships of the Spanish Main ships that would work well for this. Those might be an idea for others that are looking for ships for this game. I know they aren't published anymore, but I think you can still find them for a reasonable price.

I've also just sent an email about helping to playtest this game, too.

i have both valiant spanish main ships and peter pig ships i will try with this game

I'm using flat standup ships from War Artisan (I modified them so that the base is the topview counter, rescaled to fit the waterline of the vessel, so you get a feel for the ship looking down as well as from the side). I really ought to be making some of his 3D ships for this game.

And I need to find my experimental Carrack and Lepanto galley models and make some of those too. That's not likely to happen until after the holidays, though.

Thanks to the Barbary Coast expansion for Pirates of the Spanish Main, I have enough galliots, galleys, and galleasses for two fleets without having to lift a single paintbrush.
