Hi,
Im Brissy based – but working for a SA company so spending a lot of time there…

Can anyone advise me on wargaming clubs in Adelaide?

Historical only..

Don't know any specifics, but I would look up the Little Wars Adelaide event for club links.

Group North does a lot of historical gaming, but it's located way out in the northern wilderness.

Garrison is a little closer to town, but does mainly Warhammer AFAIK.

Southern Wargamers at Brighton has a few veteran historical gamers who do Napoleonics, and claims to be open to any system, but in my experience is mainly focussed on GW products and FoW.

Pop into Military Hobbies on Port Road and ask them about Clubs. It is a marvellous treasure trove of a hobby shop.

I don't think Group North is really the Northern Wilderness; we slew the last of the local winter wolves years ago.

If you're based at Mawson Lakes it's only a short 15 minute drive away, probably only 30 minutes from city locations. For historical wargaming though it is the best location in South Australia. We have a large and active historical player base across all sorts of systems. You can find details of our club at groupnorth.biz/.

I'd recommend coming along on a Wednesday night to see the club at its busiest. If you get in contact with us via the email links on the page or finding us on Facebook we can even get a game set up for you before hand.

Southern Wargamers looks like the best option, in that case. You can catch the train from the city, and it's then only a ten minute walk to the community centre.
