Hi all

Subscription to The SOTCW Journal (Society of Twentieth Century Wargamers) is now available with a PDF option from Wargames Vault. This makes it a lot cheaper for members based outside the UK.

Please would any lapsed, renewing or prospective members take this low cost opportunity to subscribe to the Journal which is now on its 82nd Issue and has been going for over 20 years.

For more information on the Journal or the SOTCW, please go to sotcw.co.uk

The pdf price certainly makes it more tempting. Will the back issues be available via PDF at some time?

Andrew LA10 Nov 2014 10:18 a.m. PST

Thanks for the feedback.

Back Issues are not yet available in PDF for a couple of reasons:

1. There are copyright complications for certain Issues of the Journal that prevent them being released in PDF format.

2. We do not have PDF copies of all back issues – they are only in hard copy at this stage. So we need to scan everything in to make a PDF.

We hope to add PDF back issues once we have resolved these hitches.

I'm meaning to re-up but I stupidly let life get in the way. I'd recommend the society to anyone interested in the period. The journal is full of really useful stuff.

Andrew

Renewed my membership a couple of months ago .. will that convert over, or will it remain paper based until next year's renewal?

Keep up the good work BTW

Kind regards
Robin

Hi Robin

If you have already renewed for the paper edition that is what you will get until the next renewal. You will also as a member have access to the PDF version as well via the secure section of the SOTCW website, so will get "two for the price of one" in a way.

Cheers
Andrew

Times have changed a great deal since the SOTCW first began in the 1980's. For some years, people have been asking for the option to get The Journal delivered by PDF instead of paper. For various reasons, not least rapidly-increasing postal charges, the Team has decided that we have to start offering PDF copies of the Journal as well as paper copies.

Subscription 14 (Journals 83-88) will therefore have two subscription options. Paper subscribers will get a hard copy, as before, and will also have access to PDF copies at no extra cost. However, there will also be a PDF-only option, at the reduced price of £12.00 GBP Initially, PDF subscriptions will be sold through Wargame Vault (you can buy it by going to Wargame Vault at link ), but we may add the option to buy them direct at a later date.
