I've just put some finishing touches to my 4ft x 3ft urban terrain for Crossfire games.

Nicely done.

I prefer almost no really long sight lines in Crossfire, so I'd add some kind of large Soviet-style monument to the middle of the open square because that spot just seems too open.

Nice layout.

For Soviet monuments, I recommend Green Army men and precut foam stars.

Kak delya, padroog?

I'm planning just that if only for aesthetic reasons, but the main key to hopping across the streets is smoke.

The square is a trap!

Nice, a place where heroes are born…..

I like that set-up, I agree about the sparse grass adding a subtle extra dimension to the total scene.

Those look great.

On the tiles, what are the little light colored rectangles? Markers for placing buildings? What's the advantage of having them permanently marked on the tiles?

Yes, the little labels are building numbers. This let's me set up everything very quickly which is good for club evenings.

At a later date I should be able to vary the layout as the boards and buildings all conform to a modular 4" grid.
