"During the last kickstarter there was much confusion regarding the scale of our miniatures, and this time around we want to be crystal clear: the scale of our miniatures is 35mm to the eyes. This means that a 1,80m tall human in a standing pose is 38mm tall from head to sole, which is also known as 1:48 scale (American O scale)."

I'm mainly interested in the aliens, esp Riff, so the size differences are OK with me |

Why do new companies have to keep inching the scalecreep along? Did they not do any research before hand? Grimm |

Also, I think their 1/48 scale = 38mm doesn't quite match my 1/48 scale = 36mm and then again what's it matter if there isn't any SciFi 1/48 scenery or vehicles to go with them… What there would be is a lot of Heroic 28mm or even 30mm/33mm scenery and vehicles out there with a futuristic theme. Seems that they are intent on doing the reboot at a slightly awkward scale. And there are many more companies to be compared with that I would like to see. I hope to see a better showing this time, I wanted it last time and will support it this time despite the scale creep. I still feel the creep is totally unnecessary. |

5th Dimension just reviewed some of the miniatures, check it out! bit.ly/12BRRYC It includes Sayx: Tarko Stahlen, Ares: Heavy Weapon, Harvester: Sphynx, and Riffs: Sihlas Fenn. They also did an update unlocking more heroes, lowered a couple stretch goals as we go into the final 24 hours. TWG (Talk Wargaming) did a product review of one of the miniatures, a Riff Berserker. There are images of the pieces, detail as well as comparison photo next to Warhammer 28mm and Malifaux 32mm miniatures: tinyurl.com/m7n9243 For those that are worried about the size of the miniatures and the use of existing terrain there was a good post on Dakka Dakka actually comparing 28/Heroic line to 35-40mm line. Using Fallen Frontiers miniatures to create the base comparison, then adding examples to show size comparisons from various miniatures from Infinity, WH40K, and Dust Tactics. You can see that here: tinyurl.com/qfzo29s Then a follow-up post created using the same miniatures shown in the baseline comparison taken with various 28/32mm terrain to show functionality. The terrain included Infinity, WH40K, varioud MDF terrain, and terrain from Micro Art Studio. You can see those comparisons and post here: tinyurl.com/ne2xuwl |
