Finally taking the plunge into 28mm WW2 and building a "what if?" force based around the planned invasion of Malta. I'm using Warlord Italian Airborne for one half but would like the other half to be somewhat unique.

I'd like to include a unit or two of Italian Marines or even Xa Mas frogmen. Does anyone know what uniforms the Xa Mas wore? I cannot find anything on Google (that isn't Christmas related).

Also, does anyone produce 28mm miniatures of either unit?

Not too sure about the specific units, but all the 28mm Italians I could find are listed here….

The miniatures you're looking for are here: link

Also, if you search on "Decima Mas" you'll get better results, frx: link

This seems like an interesting unit but I am a bit confused. In the early-mid war period they seemed to be frogmen and torpedo riders, but not until the overthrow of Mussolini and formation of Repubblica Sociale Italiana were they land fighters in mostly an anti-partisan role. Were they engaged in any land fighting in the early-mid war time.

Jeff, great links. Thanks.
