PSR kinda "negs" the kit on sculpting. These figures look pretty good to me. I'd give them an 8 or 9. At least from what I see in the photo.

Their main beef seemed to be with the axe and rifle man – I think he looks ok, and of course it's possible to cut away the ax or the rifle for some more variation. The porters look good, and will be useful for a few thousand years, not just WWI.

with minor conversions..for ex cutting the cantines…they could pass for Abbyssinian irregulars/rabble..useful for Italian invasion of Abbissinia and also for making number of "patriots" units lead by Orde Wingate in Italian East Africa WW2..at this scale, i see them also ok for Somalian warriors for Somaliland late period, Italian invasion of the Sultanates ecc…

I was thinking they certainly could be used for other eras like the Victorian era and even a little earlier. But yeah. Remove the modern weapons and equipment and they would look pretty primitive.

OBTW, it looks like the Colonial British Dragoons and Colonial Bengal Lancers are up next. Photos already in place.

Looks certainly like a useful set for anybody needing plenty of sub-Saharan porters – looks like one third of the set consists of them (in three poses).

They'd "dip" well I think.
