Block your calendar for October 17, 2015. Hold the date and ensure you do not make other commitments for the date or you will miss one of the best small gaming conventions in the Mid-Atlantic. KozCon is a fundraiser/gaming day held in memory of Philadelphia gamer Dave Kozlow. The small intimate convention boasts some of the best painted armies to be seen on any table, great camaraderie and the chance to contribute to a great cause. All funds raised (every last cent!!) go toward cancer research.

Cost at the door is $25 USD which may seem steep until you take into account that this includes not only a full day of gaming and a door prize, but also a top-notch lunch (this is not a slice of pizza and an off brand soda – this year's lunch was catered by Tootsie's Salad Express at the Reading Terminal and included an incredible buffet spread of salad, rolls, baked ziti, meatballs, Italian sausages, and chicken marsala. In addition an awesome banana and pineapple dessert was provided by the Effinger family. )

This year's show featured numerous games including a Samurai battle (featuring figures painted by Dave Kozlow), Don Manser's Spanish Civil War battle with beautifully painted Empress Miniatures, a Muskets and Tomahawks battle by Don and Robert Effinger a SAGA tournament by John Mitchell, an old-school Tactica 15mm Byzantine Lombard match up by Jim Ellis, and other worthy games. There was also a fund-raising dice-off, where you could obtain dice for twenty-five cents apiece and compete for a prize.

Thanks go out to Don Manser who organized the show, to Susan Manser and Annie Effinger who ran the desk and sold t-shirts, to HMGS, Age of Glory, On Military Matters, Old Glory, Toy Soldier Gallery and private donors who contributed to the success of the show.

2015 will see the introduction of a website to sign up for games. There will be a Napoleonic theme, but other events including DBMM, SAGA, Bolt Action will also be on display.

If you missed KozCon you can still pick up a t-shirt at Fall In ($15).
