…I'll add a couple of comparison pics later this week.

Tom Reed | 03 Nov 2014 2:12 p.m. PST |
I love the look of that thing! Reminds me of something that could be in Damnation Alley. |
Lion in the Stars | 03 Nov 2014 3:27 p.m. PST |
So who makes a 15mm really-ripped Kurt Russel mini to go along with that monstrosity? |
dragon6 | 03 Nov 2014 4:29 p.m. PST |
|
Gear Pilot | 03 Nov 2014 4:31 p.m. PST |
Lion, I said the same thing last time it was previewed. Glad I'm not the only one who saw a good match to that particular machine. |
Dave L | 03 Nov 2014 5:50 p.m. PST |
Well, he wasn't in Damation Alley, and he's been in over 90 movies, so come on guys, give us all a break and tell us what film you're alluding to. I know I'll probably feel stupid after you let us know, but I can take it. |

Definitely a Soldier vibe, but still very unique. Lovely work as usual. |
War Monkey | 03 Nov 2014 9:12 p.m. PST |
It screams planet exploration vehicle to me! :D |

Wonderful painting of an amazing model! I'm always awe-struck by Dwartist's subtle gradients. |
John Treadaway | 04 Nov 2014 6:13 a.m. PST |
Great model, super paint. Top work all round. John T |
dwartist | 04 Nov 2014 6:17 a.m. PST |
oops forgot the missiles on the central turret – wondered why those semi-circles where there…another senior moment! Missiles to follow. |
Dentatus | 04 Nov 2014 6:26 a.m. PST |
Very cool. Distinct, tough, functional. 28mm would be great. |
zonk76 | 04 Nov 2014 6:31 a.m. PST |
I'd definitely like to see your comparison pics, this thing looks huge! Do you know how big it is compared to the Stannis explorer? |
kenohhkc | 04 Nov 2014 6:45 a.m. PST |
Any idea on release date? |
dwartist | 04 Nov 2014 7:44 a.m. PST |
"Do you know how big it is compared to the Stannis explorer?" No, sorry. here's a pic before it was finished with a 15mm trooper
|
zonk76 | 04 Nov 2014 7:52 a.m. PST |
thanks, that gives me a good idea of how large it is! Looks like a large beastie! |
Patrick Sexton | 04 Nov 2014 8:39 a.m. PST |
Excellent work on an excellent model. Thanks, Pat |
Cyclopeus | 04 Nov 2014 8:55 a.m. PST |
The paint looks fantastic, and the model is awesome. |
javelin98 | 04 Nov 2014 9:51 a.m. PST |
Excellent work as always, Dwartist! |
Heinz Good Aryan | 04 Nov 2014 11:05 a.m. PST |
it has missiles??? i like it as is actually, like that's a scanning turret or similar…… |
Heinz Good Aryan | 04 Nov 2014 11:06 a.m. PST |
come to think of it i'm not sure i like those turrets on the sides…..they look kind of tacked on. maybe the missile turret in the middle is better and i'll seal up the turret holes….. |
khurasanminiatures | 04 Nov 2014 11:55 a.m. PST |
It's the missile turret that got added, actually. |
Grumpy Monkey | 04 Nov 2014 3:36 p.m. PST |
Went to order one for my 6mm exploreres…but as normal they are shut down again |
TK 421 | 04 Nov 2014 3:37 p.m. PST |
DAAAAAAMN! I want that!!! |
Dave L | 04 Nov 2014 5:09 p.m. PST |
It is one cool looking machine. What does the back look like? Does it have a hatch, a ramp or something else? The title says it's a "transporter." So what does it transport? Troops as an APC, or goods as in military and/or civilian supplies? |
dwartist | 05 Nov 2014 4:09 a.m. PST |
Rear has a large access ramp – I'll take more photos once I've finished the rockets. I'll jusr see if I already have a rear view somewhere… Here you go
|
dwartist | 05 Nov 2014 4:12 a.m. PST |
Incidentally – ramp is a separate part and the area behind is recessed though the hull is not hollow. You could paint it a very dark colour and have the ramp raised/lowered….and yes i missed a couple of mold lines! |
khurasanminiatures | 05 Nov 2014 6:26 a.m. PST |
This was the first model out of the mould --the production castings are cleaner. The vehicle is the combat transporter manufactured for their own use and for export by the Core Systems Ghulams. (A CSG was in one of the alien desperadoes sets I recently released and they are getting another dozen poses to make them a faction.) It is used by them in battle but is also widely used by the Control Battalions. An AFV is being designed for the CSG as well but by a different designer. The vehicle will be released once painting is completed and I ger the pewter parts. I hope that will be within a week or so. |
Eli Arndt | 05 Nov 2014 8:59 a.m. PST |
The mold lines actual just look like field damage |
dwartist | 05 Nov 2014 10:32 a.m. PST |
"The mold lines actual just look like field damage" I did highlight the upper edge once I realised I'd missed them to make it look like damage (hopefully). A simple scrape with a scalpal blade would have sorted them. Pretty clean for a prototype though. |
khurasanminiatures | 06 Nov 2014 5:58 a.m. PST |
Got the pewter parts last night so we are almost there. Of course, I will need to build a boxspring tonight -- imagine my surprise when the boxspring I ordered arrived … in a box. |
Twoball Cane | 06 Nov 2014 7:46 a.m. PST |
Gzg has future brazilians in 15mm I think will go well with this monster. So many vehicles and infantry to mix and match….halcyon days indeed |
Heinz Good Aryan | 07 Nov 2014 7:46 a.m. PST |
i still don't like those turret guns, how big is the hole to fill them??? |
TK 421 | 07 Nov 2014 8:47 a.m. PST |
Filling those in should not be difficult at all regardless of the mounting hole's size. In this configuration its perfect for the Policía Técnica. |

TK 421 | 07 Nov 2014 1:11 p.m. PST |
It be dem Saints! No, they are the Control battalion troops which will form the evil branch of the police carrying out all forms of oppression. This is the perfect vehicle for that. "Policía Técnica" denotes their use of technology to carry out their form of summary justice. |
Heinz Good Aryan | 07 Nov 2014 2:27 p.m. PST |
… oh so you mean for your own individual backstory …. |

Looking forward to when these pop up for sale. The Freehold's armoured list will be a veritable galactic version of the Iranian army by the look of things – a whole bucket of tanks, but no one from the same designer! Oh, also, did you ever go with the idea of adding a heavy plow/ mineclearing spades to that front chin at all? |
Golan2072 | 16 Nov 2014 10:50 a.m. PST |
Looks like a Krogan Tomkah… |
Johny Boy | 17 Nov 2014 12:56 p.m. PST |
Was hoping this would be on release following recent tempory break, any news on release date, any chance this bad boy could be hanging in our stockings come Christmas morning? |
BlackWidowPilot | 17 Nov 2014 10:59 p.m. PST |
Love it. The missile system clinches it for me. And I too am a fan of an eclectic AFV stable under one flag… I'm going to have to figure out how to integrate a couple of these into my ongoing projects… Leland R. Erickson Metal Express metal-express.net |

I think I like this even more than the Stannis explorer. Which is saying something, because I really like the Stannis. Both of them seem to be the "Explorer" ATV from Star Frontiers RPG to me. Now if someone *cough* ELI! *cough* would just make some 15mm not-Dralasites, not-Yazirians, and not-Vrusk… |
