Some of the new Blitz range Canadian Infantry from Battlefield Miniatures… Painted up as generic British for my army.

Beautiful painting and basing.Just checked the site and really like the poses, very promising jut wish that they were 28mm

Piers:
No Bren gunner? Why omit the most important weapon in the section? If you added another rifleman and a Bren gunner to the pack with the section leader and the SMG then a squad would be a two pack purchase.
They are beautiful little figures and as always the painting is superlative.
Cheer.

Dunno, you'd have to ask Battlefield, but they have more on the way apparently.

Is it just a matter of uniform colour that differentiates Canadian from British Infantry?

Uniform colour, insignia differences and that's about it. Same equipment, TO&E and doctrines. 3rd Canadian Div seems to have been predominantly equipped with the Mk III helmet before Normandy and many in that division had higher boots worn without web anklets.

Just been discussed in another thread.

Are those figures compatible with AB 20mm's?

Nicely done! As noted, the Canadian BD was a bit greener and lighter than the Brit issue but otherwise the same

Nice!

Huevans,

All my Brits are AB, Battlefield and Wartime.

Is it just a matter of uniform colour that differentiates Canadian from British Infantry?

Nope, because some British units (notably Guards Armoured) received uniforms made of Canadian cloth!

spontoon08 Nov 2014 5:01 p.m. PST

@ Number 4;

However, much of the BD made in Canada was made of British made cloth. They needed something to fill all those ships returning to Halifax! Also, Canada didn't have the massive textile industry Britain had.

number408 Nov 2014 7:37 p.m. PST

True, but the fact remains SOME British troops looked like Canadians – and don't even get me started about Australian BD! In 1.72 scale it's either a dollop of green in with your khaki or it isn't, according to taste :)
