The trailer looked pretty good – creepy and intelligently done. Which is more than I can say for the latest crud from neil blomkamp – a similarly themed film 'chappie.' Whereas Ex machina looks to be a nuanced investigation of AI and the nature of humanity, 'chappie' looks like a cheesy remake of Short Circuit, redone as didactic political correctness. |
