All the models for our 2 new Carthaginian sets are now complete and at the tooling stage. We thought you might like to see the wonderful job Emel has done on the Citizen infantry and Libyan javelin-men. There are some great faces on these figures and he has really studied a lot of North African people and images to give these figures some superb character.

Good news for 2015. I did like the expressive faces which will come up very well. The Triarii on the Facebook page are a great looking unit (even though they are Romans……).

The 24 man citizen unit is a nice touch. Some of those Libyans look a little 'demonic'.

(Sigh) I will have to come back to this period in 28mm damnit! thumbs up

I think those Libyans will become one of the most useful sets ever.Enormous conversion potential.

These look really awesome. The faces are packed full of character. Really have to get into this range. Just too tempting.
I will use some of the citizens as Hebrews/Judean spearmen in King Davids army and later as the pointed helmets are like Assyrians. Just need shield change and possibly couple of tasels add to tunics and scarfs around helmets if really in the conversion mood.

They look really great!! Just ordered 7 boxes of the romans (with transfers of course, and some additional officers from Aventine) to build my Romans and allies with, hopefully finish them up by the time these are released.

Any plans for plastic Spanish? I will need so many of them for Carthages army, and metal can get so expensive!!

STEVE LBMS26 Nov 2014 7:45 a.m. PST

Spanish will be the next Punic wars set after the Carthaginians and then we are looking at some Punic wars cavalry!

Best regards,

Steve.

Good news about the Spanish. I liked that throwaway line about Punic Cavalry – what did you have in mind?

Hi Garry,

I can't let that out of the bag just yet. Walls have ears and all that! As soon as we mention what we are working on you can bet your house there will be some new metals and one image of a 3 up sculpt to rain on our parade!:o)

Regards,

Steve.

Thanks Steve, understand. Looking forward to the Vets and Citizens in any event. Any chance of some 'personalities' by the way?

Garry
