Can anyone recommend a scale for aircraft for use with khurasan miniatures? I really like the ww2 me komet and the focke wulf t183.
Will 1/72 be too big? I recently purchased some FOW vehicles and found them annoyingly small.

When you consider that our hobby has more than its share of obsessive compulsive and fussy persons the scale differences out there are mind boggling.

Use 1/144 aircraft if you intend to have them on flight stands.

Aircraft are big and at 1/100 even a fighter will take up the same table space as a platoon of parked tanks. 1/72 will be far too big.

Unless they are going to be on the ground as in a tarmac or landing site 1/144 is definitely the best choice.

Flames of War ground vehicles and helicopters are 1/100 (or as close as you can get with the vagaries of silicone molds). Flames of war fixed-wing planes are 1/144.

1/72 planes will be twice the size of the Flames of War planes.

Problem is, 1/100 is a pretty limited scale for plastic models. Sure, there are Gundams and some other Bandai products in 1/100, but that's not historical planes. 1/72 and 1/144 are much more popular scales for modelers.

Victrix are doing 1/100 planes, and Zvezda also.

Just wondering why this topic is in the 15mm SF area…

Other wise, downloadable papercraft it is, buy the next biggest scale up and reduce scale to print.

Because I'm looking for 15mm aircraft to use with my khurasan sci fi troops.
As I posted in sci fi board I didn't feel the need to specify this.

I'll be sure to get your permission from now on.

You KNOW that's not what I meant.

Fair point mate. I could have put more and better info into my post.

I thought there would be lots or sources for late war nazi jets/rockets and it doesn't seem to be the case.

Now i was confused as well.
From the words used in the OP and from everyone else's responses i to was curious to know why this was in a sci fi board and not the WWII board.
And it is all cleared up.

Luft '46 kinds of things in 1/100?

hrm… most of those seem to be 1/72 scale, but:

Those are MODEL kits, not gaming kits. They will be a bit pricey and fiddly in comparison to gaming items.

Most Luft'46 gaming models seem to be 1/300…
