I'm looking for some suggestions for 28mm figures for playing the wars of Henry II and his many foes. I'm just starting to collect with an eye to building armies for Lion Rampant. |

Essex has perfect figures in their Feudal and Crusades ranges. |

Both Kingmaker miniatures and Claymore casting should have what you want. Both firms make fantastic figures. |

Thinking both Kingmaker and Claymore is a bit late for this question, being from around late 14th C – early 15th C (unless they have something I don't know about). Henry II would be more for mid to late 12th C. Black Tree's 2nd Crusade might have a few useful figures (though a few are rather "Germanic"). Also their 3rd Crusade may also have some useful figures for the latter part of Henry's reign. Damon. |

That being said, the 12th C is fairly underrepresented compared to the 11th C (Normans), & 13th-15th C. I would love to see someone expand into this period. It happens to be one of my favorites… Damon. |

You can also use any Perry Crusades figures. You can even use his knights with Arab head scarfs as some brought that fashion from Crusades. Old Glory Crusades will work also. Their "Lionheart" range have knights with half masked helmets. Other crusader knights are great for majority of European knights of 12th century. OG Crusades infantry are also perfect. You can even use footmen and crossbowmen from OG "Mongols" range. Avoid any knights with full helms and plate armor here and there – they are more like 13th century. Majority of shields can still be "Norman" types and tall heater but even round "Viking" shields would still be used by rank and file foot. |

OK I'll be that guy. It's not the scale you asked for but how about Miniature Service Center's 40mm range? link Not unreasonable for the size of armies in Lion Rampant. |

Garand is correct,I'm off by about 200 years. Hopefully it's just a senior moment. Maybe Perry Miniatures 1st. Crusader figures will be ok, their is a lot to pick from out of this range and they have plenty of character figure to choose from also! |

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think the price on the 40mm figs is a bit out of my budget. |

Scribbler; it look like "BTM" is having 50% off sale this week and maybe even free postage in some cases! |
