We fought a play test of the battle of Longlier scenario from the Great War Spearhead scenario book currently under development. This was also the very first outing of Jon's 10mm forces on the table. The 10mm figures are a delight. The scenario is fascinating. On first reading it appears to be just another battle. However it is a complex and challenging scenario that is thoroughly engaging. We only managed to play abut a third to a half of the battle (too much time yarning) and so Jon and Keith will finish the battle next week. Here is a write up with photos from last night's effort: link Kind regards Robin |

Im painting up Kallistra 1914 French and Germans even now as my current project and Longlier is one action I have definitely been thinking of doing once I start playing. This just fires me up even more, thanks for posting it! |

Very interested in a scenario book , looking forward to its release. I agree 10mm is a good scale for this period. |

The book will be awesome (at the risk of over using that over used word). The interesting thing I've found as I've done my little bit to help the writers/developers is that on first reading the scenarios look pretty 'ho hum' but when played the possibilities and challenges are huge, and the play tests have been fascinating and exciting. You'll love the book when it's finished. The battles will yield great games. R |
