It's a modernized Agusta A129 'Mongoose.' It's even called the T-"129":

I wonder what other attack helicopters it is comparable to? It seems sort of small. It is a smaller helo, it's based on the Augusta A129 Mongoose. I'd call it comparable to the earlier, twin-engine AH1 SeaCobras (AH1J or AH1T). Not the AH1W or AH1Z airframes, the older models. |

Interetingly enough at one stage the Turks were considering the Russian KA-50 Hocum for this project. I'm surprised they went Italian and not American as they currently have a whole heap of older AH-1P/S/Ws in service (though don't go by Wiki – the numbers are heavily overstated – real number is about 46 delivered though a number has been lost). |
