I understand this unit was disbanded 1810, but reformed as a 2 bttn unit in 1813 with shakos, rather than the majestic Raupenhelms (Cantler plates). Does anyone have a view about which figures are best used? Any suggestions gratefully received – newly returned to this splendid hobby!

They look to me like French infantry in green.

So stop fussing about and just get french fusiliers you recon?

Have a look at the Perry Confederation of the Rhine series. There are figures in there that would suit with a little conversion.

Wow!

These sound very interesting. And they look great! Bardin french uniform best? Except you want long plumes for the grenadiers and voltigeurs and the rankers have short plumes not pom poms.

Elite companies with epaulettes but only one row of buttons on the tunic, no lapels, maybe Nassau infantry would work on this as well.

Good points. Here are the Nassau

Very much appreciated! So I might be up for my first conversion: probably a) Nassau line with Bardin shakos (short plume)for Jaeger line, and b)Nassau elite with Bardin shako (long plume) for the elite cos, each with trouser braiding filled in. Plumes may have to be obtained elsewhere but will check it out.

I could just go Perry NN18 for a)but with short plume, and use them for b), epaulettes added.

Just saw Perry Sailors of Imperial Guard FN 153 which might be promising, but looks like too much chest clutter.

Much to mull over – thanks again!

actually the shako was more of Austrian style of 1811 and had a small rear visor as well, so those might be an alternative for campaign look (without cords and tassels).
In case you prefer those then a French shako might be the easier option for conversion indeed.

Thanks von Winterfeldt hadn't picked that up – will re-examine shako options. But I guess if I am going to all this trouble then full dress it is!
