Played my first naval battle in the Peloponnesian Wars. My wife was my opponent again. This time I won, but barely. It was played in 28mm. Most of my ships look the same, but the troops on them are obvious, so that is how you identify which ship is what side, etc. We used simple throw down game house rules. On the spot rules. My head is filled with so many rules, I can make rules really fast, simple or complicated. Simple for my wife. Tom link |

yes they are those Academy ships. I have 10 I made about 10 years ago all at once. They are about 20mm roughtly, maybe slightly smaller, but they work for me. Some day I am going to throw down some cash for some of those Grandmanner galleys. Until then these will work. When I used them for 15mm troops they worked perfect. Not bad for $15 USD a ship. And the table is my coffee table which is only 40" x 60", yes a little small, but the only table available. My 12" x 16" is completely occupied by a very large epic sized battle that I am playing (in the garage/ my game room. So it had to do. I did not use all of my ships because of the size of the table. Probably should have used 2 ships or even one ship on each side. One on one probably would work better. It was still fun in any case. My wife and I did not mind. It was my first naval battle, so it was all new. I am thinking of buying some of those micro sized greek ships. It would work well on that sized table. Tom |
