4. Unless we decide we like it better our way and call it a house rule.

Either 3 or 4 depending on the situation. I often play solo, so either option works.

You listed the options in the order my group *prefers*, but in the opposite order that my group actually uses. IF we can, we start over, but more often than not it's too big a hassle so we just fix it 'from here on out'.

An astute observation, for the win!

8. Immediately claim a moral victory, lampoon the baffoon that read the rules wrong, spend 10 mins explaining what move you would have made had the rules been made clear, snatch the rules off the rules owner and pointedly show them wher they made their mistake.

What?

Just me then hey?

tkdguy14 Oct 2014 7:46 p.m. PST

If you're having fun, you're not doing it wrong.

TKday beat me to it. The only thing I would add is notify the maker that you've "improved the game" and ask to have it in the next errata sheet.

I don't think we ever "go back". Just change it next time is almost always the case, unless we decide the official version sucks.

Poniatowski17 Oct 2014 4:33 a.m. PST

3 but personally prefer 4 whether it is to my benifit or not.

myrm1121 Oct 2014 9:21 a.m. PST

3 for a minimum, 4 if fair balance/timing/agreement/etc allows…

SO correct it as soon as both sides are happy to and its fair to do so.

3.

If it's early enough in the game, and neither side has received any great advantage, o if eh side has had the same advantage an even number of times, we might correct at that point.

But if we're halfway through before it's discovered, we stick with the error and correct in future plays.

Last Hussar09 Nov 2014 7:07 a.m. PST

3 or 4 depending of fairness at that point.

monash191618 Nov 2014 1:18 p.m. PST

4 or 3…, but I only play with people I like and who, like me, find it more important to have a nice game then to win.

And finding out that we were doing something wrong happend more than once in our games :-)

Usually 3 or 4, but also 5 as, on occasionm I (and those I game with) have kept the "incorrect interpretation" as an alternative set of rules.
