That looks good. I do like old trucks!

Sorry to sound kind of dumb here but I don't understand how this process works so I have to ask this question. Is this a kit with pieces that are put together or is it a single object bought as a whole?

generaly it is a whole model, hollow and with a lot of detail, not a kit although some odd parts may be separate like the tilt

Yes, the truck is one part … 3D printed (rather than cast). I asked that the canopy be separate … which was easily done … that is also 3D printed as well.

Most place are moving to using 3D printing to create their master models … they creating a mold from that master model. For mass production 3D printing isn't fast enough yet (and is most costly).

For odds and ends, or one offs like this, it is easy enough to print the 8 trucks I want … which cost a little more than had I been able to buy them as resin from say Warlord Games … but of course, nobody sells a Bedford QLD in 1:56 so here I landed.

3D printing can do some wonderful things for the wargames industry … imagine when we get to full color 3D printing … and everything is "pre-painted" …. but I digress.

Unfortunately a 3D printed model is only as good as the drawing that is used to produce it and this one looks wrong to me. The radiator front is vertical as opposed to angled and the cab width should get smaller towards the front as opposed to almost parallel and that's only from my first impressions so there are probably other errors too . Easily corrected though.

Interesting. What did you send them by way of plans?

I sent them lots of historical pictures. Also, some key links here:

I had him fix the front grill --- looks correct now on the site.

Anyone yet have a picture of this built up or painted?
