in 1/600th and have got this to the 90% stage. This is a representation of an Alpha Strike for use with the Downtown game where one model represents one flight. I have two more airwings to make up after this, one using F-8 Crusaders, Skyhawks and early EW aircraft such as the EA-1F, The other is F-4B Phantoms and Skyhawks.
It comprises 19 models of which four are A-6 intruders to optionally replace A-7s. The package is 15 aircraft on the table.
It is 90% because It still needs the jet intake warning on the A-6s and the EKA-3Bs to be added and the tail art on the two EKA-3B to be put on. Its all printed up and dried I just need to get some time to get it on the models and then sealed. Minor error on the placement of the decals on the EKA-3B which came from having two pictures open. The EKA-3B when fitted with the ECM pods has the NAVY under the pod and the National Insignia towards the tail. Prior to that they are other way around, which is what I have done on these. Not changing it as these are gaming models :)
EKA-3Bs
613 and 614 are the two I had made up previously so I was straight forward to strip them down, repaint in the new scheme and then reprint the decals I had already made up, the 613 and 614 are new however as they need to have a shear applied
VA-165 A-6 Intruders
I have done four of these 501, 502, 504 and 505. Still need the intake warnings and try and get Dom to make a slightly smaller Star n Bar for this scale (or may be I can find some 1/700th ones) to fit the gap. I filed down the detail on the tail to get the decals sit to properly. The A-7s in the background have had TER fitted from the sets that come in the A-10 packs.
RVAH-11
This wings on a 1/600th aircraft are well overscale as a result I couldn't get RVAH-11 to fit under NAVY on the fuselage sides. Still needs the sharks mouth decals to be made up and fitted to the intakes.
The Air Wing on the table with the A-6 bomber option taken. I have also had to make up "another" F-4J for VF-92 as I need 6 fighter variants for a package. This one isn't a MiG Killer but I had made up enough markings for VF-92 a while ago
More photos etc on the Blog as usual cag19.blogspot.co.uk
