There are countless unmade and largely unopened plastic kits (Tamiya, Airfix, Fujimi, Heller etc) acting as loft insulation in my attic. POW, KGV, Bimarck in 1;350, Scheer, Prinz Eug, every US carrier ever…..lots of brass work as well(I have no spare time after doing my Napoleonic Figures these days and Mrs Deadhead is getting cross!)

I hesitate to ask what I should do with them or where to stick them. 'er indoors has already suggested.

Some donation to Help the Heroes or some such (entirely up to anyone who wants them) and not a complete waste is all I seek.

I do not want anything for them, so e Bay is far too much hassle…..I would just hate to see them dumped. I live in North Yorkshire, top end of North York Moors.

Hi deadhead, I'm an ex serviceman who is attending a drop in center for those with mental health issues. we do activities from job skills, cooking, welfare advice, art therapy, fishing and even surfing. If you want them to go to a good home here's a good cause.

We are based in West Wales but I am sure I could sort something out regarding collection, my sister in law lives in Scarborough and is coming down to wales mid November.

failing that, eBay.

OP said 'no' to eBay.

I am currently disposing of my recently deceased best friends wargaming stuff, figures, books, unmade kits, you name it.

All proceeds will go to charity, Combat Stress in this case. It is amazing the response you will get from putting the stuff in front of the right sort of buyers.

A while back we had a drive to collect kits for centres for underprivileged kids. Maybe check with your local centres if they have any use for them?

IDK about the UK, but here in the US, a couple of organizations collect unwanted model kits for distribution to vet hospitals and to rehab centers for vets.

Might be similar in the UK, but again IDK.

I don't know how thy work in the UK, but I would also suggest some sort of veteran's hospital.

Andymac, this is exactly what I meant and thanks to everyone for the same suggestions.

Entirely up to you whether you flog these on E Bay (no way I would get into that) as a fundraiser or assemble them yourselves. I'd suggest a combination. The Tamiya kits sell at £50.00 GBP+ and POW has never even been opened. Many of them have White Ensign Brass…again something I always meant to use. Boxes of Saratoga, Lex, Enterprise, Hornet, Yorktown, Independence, Bogue, Trumpeter Arizona, etc etc…..

I have no idea how we contact. Let me check out how it is done safely here.

Tell your sister to turn right at Helmsley, pass the Bay Horse in Gt Broughton, pass the Jetminers and turn left before The Wainstones. If she sees the Black Horse she has gone 50 yds too far!

I would love to see these prove of some use to someone

Hi deadhead, firstly many thanks. I agree with you once we get them we will see what is there and put some aside for us as therapy and auction some for funds. You will find my email address at the link below, drop me a line with your phone number and when best to ring you and I will be in touch.

Once again many thanks.

Message sent. Mrs Deadhead and I could enjoy a run to Scarborough in the Grand Cherokee….long as it is not midwinter!

I wonder how many of us have attics loaded with stuff that is valuable, but we have no idea what to do with it. If I had given this to the local Charity shop, they would have no idea of potential value. No way am I getting into E Bay and internet trolls etc……!

I imagine the poor retailers must curse folk like me, who are happy to give away stuff that they must sell to make living. Funny old world. Help a good cause, but potentially shoot ourselves in the foot by putting our suppliers into penury?

By the way….his site is worth a visit! Some great work there

Hi Deadhead, firstly thanks for the comment on my painting. Secondly is it possible for you to email me again, I think it got stopped by my filter settings. I have lowered them so it should get through this time.

Again many thanks

Andy
