Excellent! But pray sir, speak more of the manner of these jousts! How came you to devise the laws which govern such affairs martial? |

Interesting, we had virtual jousting tourneys on bretonnia.org site, site members came up with the rules, and Tourney Master was rolling and publishing the results coloured with artistic description of the fights. I was thinking of making something similar to your set-up, have lots of polystyrene left after balconies refurbishment, so I'll study the pics for future references… ;) |

Hello I just used some very simple house rules that I made up on the spot. I just rolled dice against each knight and who ever had the most points won the joust after 3 passes. If a rider rolled a 6 then his opponent was unhorsed an instant loss obviously. If the knight happened to be a duke he was allowed one re roll during the match. I was the field marshal and rolled the dice. It was a solo game while I was taking care of my daughter who was sick at home from school. So it was a hasty game on the dining room table. I can obviously make it more complicated. I joust so it would be easy to develop for myself more complex rules |

What I mean is I can always add to my house rules to make it more interesting. Head shots, shield hits, misses etc. I just used some old fences and a lot of my MBA terrain. I would like to get some of Steve Barbers joust in stuff in 28mm. The tilt field was just a simple set up. Thank you all. It was fun and took up a few hours of my day and made it go faster. I plan on having tournaments all over Bretonnia. As well as war. |

Well, I think that was splendid. Your scenery was great, too. I thought it was a demonstration / participation game for a convention! |

Wow! Thanks! that makes me feel good! Motivation to game on!! I plan on having joustin tournaments more often. I will keep track of who is winning the most tournaments. I think next time I will add a few different rules to the game to keep it interesting. |

Your rules don't sound half-bad as a starting point. Many times, simpler is better with rules, especially if the miniatures and scenery are top notch. |

Looks great! Does Warhammer have rules for jousting, or did you use a different ruleset? |

Great stuff. Where did you get all the names? Are the knight's heraldry real of "correct"? |

I think there are some jousting rules in the Warhammer Siege rule book. I made house rules for my game. I pulled some of the names out of the Bretonnia houses, and And a few of them were borrowed from my friends. Tom tidesofwargaming.blogspot.com |
