Over the years I've gleaned these boards for feedback and opinions from everything from game systems to models. Because of this invaluable information shared by others I thought I'd throw a review up of a kit I just purchased for Bolt Action in the hopes that perhaps this would help someone else and give back to the community.

With the high cost of 1/48 and 1/56 scale WWII vehicles I was looking for a less expensive alternative. On the boards here a poster was pointed in the direction of Lindberg and after searching the interwebs I thought that this was exactly what I was looking for too. I purchased 2 off of Ebay for $25.18 USD US which is well below the cost of a single vehicle from most manufacturers in this scale.

I was looking for affodability and ease of assembly without a bunch of fiddly parts.

Having received my order today I set about assembling the first tank and after opening the box I found that the model was well made with zero flash. All that needed cleaning was where it attached to the sprues. It's made of hard plastic and has easy to follow instructions. You can even assemble the interior detail of the vehicle including the engine if you desire. Since I was using this as a gaming piece I bypassed these assembly instructions making it even faster to assemble.

Here is a picture of the tank's lower portion completed

And I used modeling clay to add weight to the tank for a better feel in the hand.

Here is the decking complete and attached

And the entire tank assembled. The barrel moves as well as the turret rotates freely.

I give this a solid A+ on affordability and quality for tabletop wargaming.

Great value, if you don't mind sacrificing a bit of detail and accuracy.

Nice work.

Question – the pictures of the tank shows a "nub" or "pin" where the muzzle break would be at the end of the gun barrel on the box art but yours seems to have a muzzle break. Is that the way it comes or is the picture the way it comes in the box?

Thanks

The barrel comes with that nub on it. I clipped the nub off and added the muzzle break that comes with the kit so it looked more accurate.

It's a nice looking model. My one criticism. The treads look like they are riding a bit too far forward. Is that how the model positions them…by tabs etc?

Otherwise, pretty nice model and price, especially when the model costs about $35 USD-$40 in metal.

I bought one of those for about 50p in a shop many years ago, they had loads of just the tigers, it is a 1/48th scale model and is quite good for the price and easy to build, I wish now I had bought all of them, I still have it somewhere in the stash!
I do not know if lindberg ever made any different vehicles?

Nice job! Thanks for sharing!

@ joker

The treads have tabs/slots

@ shaun

I was only able to find this tank in the 1/48 scale. I was hoping they did other tanks as well but it appears this was a one and done. They seem to focus more on airplanes.

And primed.
