I am working on a DR Doom project and I am building his castle in Latveria. What should be inside his castle? So far I have: Throne Room, since he is the reigning head of state Control Room, with science stuff Dungeon with prison cells, Guard Room, with bunks for guards Any other ideas? Training Room for combat practice. Huge numbers of cells tailored to the abilities of specific superheroes. It was in the X-Men vs. Dr. Doom issue of X-Men. Lots of statues of Vic. It was in the FF issue where Doomy kidnapped Ben Grimm's blind sculptor girlfriend. Big, big, kitchen and pantry (probably wine cellar, too … which is a great place to add the hidden entrance to the lab or meditation room), as he always has a good spread on in the comics. |

Bedroom!? Sleep Is for the weak. Doom requires no rest. There are rooms for servants and guests, should they choose to indulge in such frailties. Doom is ever a gracious host. |

The Lego Marvel Superheroes Game has a level where the FF invade Doom's castle. Seem to recall that there were lots of security measures across the top of the castle and parapets, various labs and a massive throne room with huge windows. Might be worth looking for a video walkthrough of the level on YouTube or similar? |

From Doom's entry in the Handbook of the Marvel Universe. "Doctor Doom is headquartered in Castle Doom, a huge 110 room castle built in the 16th century by the Latverian nobleman Count Sabbat. The castle overlooks the Latverian capital of Doomstadt (formerly Haasenstadt). Taking occupancy soon after usurping the throne from King Vladimir, Doom has dwelled in the castle ever since, with the exception of a brief period of time when the usurper Prince Zorba reigned. Among it's many rooms the castle contains Doom's living quarters, his many laboratories, his art museum, his robot factory, and his prisons. Castle Doom has a permanent staff of 300, overseeing the castle's upkeep and Doom's personal needs. Only 50 of this staff are human, the rest are robots." |

I cannot back this up with any evidence from the comics (or elsewhere) that I KNOW of, which is not to say it isn't out there somewhere: An elaborate and overly complex execution room for disposal of heroes. In other words the sort of thing seen in virtually every spy movie from the 1960s through the 1980s. IMHO it seems like something the good Doctor might build… |
