Back when I could afford Supporting Membership, I really enjoyed the Lounge. Nothing disappointing about it. We could/would vent to each other about our jobs, health, lack of actual human contact, etc. To say it is disappointing does a disservice to those of us who found it to be an ideal virtual community. |

I have been authorised to reveal The Secrets of The Lounge. Despite popular misconception, the Lounge is nothing more than a refuge for SNAG wargamers & offers self-improvement courses in many of the necessary aspects of fine living. For example, John the OFM teaches a weekly course in etiquette whilst Smokey Roan leads us nightly in ball-room dancing classes. Other courses include personal hygiene & grooming tips, informational programs on "Women's Fashions & How to Survive Shopping Trips to the Mall" (very popular that one). At Night's end, we often meet at the Snag Bar for a sherry after a brisk work-out at our Virtual Gym. "Sex & the City' plays on the bar's big screen & we try to get in touch with our finer feelings. When I was a supporting member, I removed the lounge posts from my default TMP view. Dear fellow non-supporting members; you may feel like you are missing out on something. You are not. By all means, give our Emperor Editor (All hail Emperor Editor!) your money so he can keep the site running but don't do it in order to get access to the lounge. </rant> |
