Somebody in a previous post mentioned the look of Space 1999 being similar to UFO. No coincidence, besides the fact that they are both Gerry Anderson productions, Space 1999 origanally started out as the next season of UFO. Check the Gerry Anderson website if you want more info. Sorry I don't remember the exact address for it, but it should be easy to find. Reading this thread I can't believe I watched as much Sci-Fi as I did as kid. Now except for Dr. Who I can't stand the crap. |

I loved the models and the overall look to both shows. It makes sense that they were both produced by the same guy... thanks for the cool trivia. I also liked the movie Journey to the Far Side of the Sun for the same reason. Don't know whether Gerry Anderson had anything to do with that one, though. Keith |

Journey to the Far Side of the Sun(aka Doppleganger) was indeed another Gerry Anderson production. the official GA appreciation club website: fanderson.org.uk
In spite of my previous bitter sounding remark, I do still have a soft spot for GA's work (as well as Dr.Who). Cheesy and British one of my favorite combinations. :) |
