"Hear Ye! Hear Ye!" SAGA will have two official tournaments this year at Fall In. Both are listed in the tournament section of the PEL. Here is the summary of both events.

Friday:
12 PM – 5 PM
Campaign Tournament "King of Britain"
12 players.
Dark Age Rules used to fight battles to conquer Britain. Players will be sorted into factions who, as teams, will vie for control of the British Isles. Come test your skills as a Dark Age warlord (C&C factions not in play) while trying to conquer all of Britain and become crowned as King. All are welcome. Extra armies and rules coaching will be available for those who do not have an army.
GM: Tom Keegan (keegantdad@yahoo.com)

Saturday:
10 AM – 4 PM
The format will be jump in-jump out play a round tournament meaning you do not have to play all the rounds. New comers welcome and feel free to jump in for a single game or play all four rounds. We will have extra armies available and will help with the rules. Rounds will run roughly for an hour using either 4pt or 6 pt SAGA armies from all the current lists to include Crescent and Cross. The point level for each round will be decided on between you and your opponent based on the figures you have available. Use of Heroes of the Dark Age and special units must be agreed to by both players for them to be eligible. Scores will be based on number of wins and then points killed. Points are awarded in accordance with the rules with 1 pt for every three levies, two Warrior or each Hearthguard figure killed by your army. Each enemy Warlord eliminated is worth 5 points. No unpainted figures allowed. We will use the official scenarios with one or two from C&C mixed in. If you would like to sign up contact the GM or just show up on the day of the tournament and we will fit you in. We will have enough terrain and tables to accommodate 16 players. Prize support provided by Architects of War and Gripping Beast Miniatures.

Very exciting! I can't wait – I'm finishing off my Christian Army now!!

King30,
Great. I am hoping to have my Saracean force complete by Fall In. not sure I will get to play, but it will at least be available as a loaner force for someone to use. So should I mark you down as a participant? The emails are starting to roll in for signups.

TheKing3003 Oct 2014 10:22 a.m. PST

Please do. I'm busting my butt to finish this army. Please note that I wish to attend the Saturday festivities. Since I only have the Christians finished, I'll pass on Fridays game.

Quick questions

1) Do you allow four point armies or do they have to be six points?

2) Can I proxy figures? I have Aztecs that I'd like to play as Vikings.

keegantdad20 Oct 2014 4:32 a.m. PST

@TheKing30,
The point totals for the Saturday tournament are decided between you and your opponent. So if either of you only have 4 points then you guys play a four point round. The idea is for this to be a very user friendly event. So we will also have loaner armies/figures available If you wanted to beef up your four point army to 5 or 6 points you will probably be able to. I am sure proxies will be acceptable. The typical group of gamers are easy going at a Saga event.

TheKing30,

I have an Aztec Battleboard for you. Give me your address and I can send it to you. It won't be legal for a tournament though.

Keegantdad,

I will try to make it for Fridays games with my Welsh. I may not be able to play the whole time as I have to get to the dealers hall to pick up prizes for a ECW tournament I'm running on Saturday morning. I won't take the place of someone who can play the whole time, however.

keegantdad24 Oct 2014 5:17 p.m. PST

@bowman. Don't sweat it we run it so that people can jump in and out. Come and okay as much or as little as you like.

A quick reminder that we have two SAGA events at Fall In this year. Thanks to all who have sent emails. You are clearly excited about these events and I am getting excited to meet all of you. These events will be in the tournament hall in the same location each day. Here are some additional details.
Friday: 12 PM – 5 PM Campaign Tournament "King of Britain"
Come test your skills as a Dark Age warlord (C&C factions not in play) while trying to conquer all of Britain and become crowned as King. This will be a tile laying map based campaign game which will show your conquered territories and the umber of SAGA points you can field during combat. Battles generated on the map will be moved to the table top for resolution using SAGA as the tabletop rules. All are welcome. Extra armies and rules coaching will be available for those who do not have an army.

Saturday: 10 AM – 4 PM
The format will be jump in-jump out play a round tournament meaning you do not have to play all the rounds. New comers welcome and feel free to jump in for a single game or play all four rounds. We will have extra armies available and will help with the rules. Rounds will run roughly for an hour using either 4pt or 6 pt SAGA armies from all the current lists to include Crescent and Cross. Here are the scenarios by round.
Round 1: "Sacred Ground" with pre-set terrain.
Round 2: " Champions of God" from C&C
Round 3: "The Challenge"
Round 4: Top four players will play a Feast of Crows game.
