I just got an email from Michaels.com with a tool that may be of interest to some on this board. It's a hand held 3-D pen that operates like a 3-D printer (there's a quick video with it.) The cost is $99.99 USD usd for the pen and 50 plastic 10" sticks in assorted colors. Refills are $9.99 USD for 25, 10" sticks in a single color. As far as I know Michaels Craft stores are a US entity; I don't know if they have any stores outside of the USA. When I saw this I immediately thought of scenery, aliens or organic vehicles. Answer… no It's been mentioned before… it is basically a powered hot glue gun with a fine nozzle…. If you can make something out of it.. Then you could probably make something out of wire or string or rubber loom bands just as easily. |

It might work well for scaffolding or giant spider webs. |

I was thinking of getting one for making ship railing, but $99 USD seems a lot for that. |
