Find this very interesting. As I worked 15 years on the DeHavilland DHC -5 Buffalo which was designed as the turbo prop replacement for the Caribou. It was designed for US Army due to success of Caribou in Vietnam. Conflict with Air Force ended up with it not being bought. These engines are much more modern and I would love to see a comparison between the turbo Caribou vs Buffalo. The Dehavilland Beaver which had a radial engine has also been upgraded as the turbo Beaver. Thankd for sharing this |
