I watched this movie tonight: probably the 10th time in as many years since I bought the DVD.

I enjoy it every time I view it for no other reason than it was obviously not a 'Hollywood' production but the acting is excellent.

I also have 'Drums Along the Mohawk' and 'The Patriot'.

What other AWI films, if any, should I add to my collection?

Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

Regards,

I like the A&E American Rev series. It was first narrated by Charles Kuralt then redone with another narrator. Plenty of stuff to motivate you in it.

There are many tales to be told by the reenactors employed in The Crossing. Among them the nick-name for Jeff Daniels as "Captain Crunch" because of his insistence on an over-sized tricorne to look bigger than life. And his personality and attitude towards the extras.

Polar opposite of Mel Gibson's relationship with the extras on Patriot. (Even the British ones.)

The Crossing is my favorite AWI movie.

How I've come to realize actors are good or not. If in real life I can't stand them but on tv or in movie I like the characters they play. The Wahlbergs are a perfect example. Nothing but hoodlums and thugs that got a break in Hollywood. Yet when you see them in a movie, you really like the characters they play. Mel Gibson is another good example. If we were sitting down and drinking together, I'd probably punch him. lol but I like a lot of his movies.

Interesting, I feel the same way. I don't care about an actors personal life or political views: if their acting allows me to suspend disbelief than I enjoy their performance.

This is a really good documentary. It is shown on the Military Channel (now the American Heroes Channel) quite often. But it still has the voice of Charles Kuralt. Never heard it narrated by anyone else.

Could you be confusing the History Channel, (which I believe is part of A&E), "The Revolution" narrated by Edward Herrmann. Not near as good as "The Revolutionary War" which is the one narrated by Charles Kuralt.

"The Crossing" is great. Jeff Daniels did a terrific job in that film.
