In the absence of anything in the Empress range other than a gatling gun crew, which are the nicest alternative figures available? I like the look of the Perry Sudan range but are the uniforms suitable? Assuming the sennet hat was worn in 1879, who does figures wearing this headgear? I looked at the current Copplestone figures in their Darkest Africa range but their uniforms and rifles look later. All advice much appreciated. |

Have you looked at Old Glory or Redoubt? |

Here's how the Old Glory figures look: link Seems that about half of the bag of 30 may have Sennet hats and the others typical naval officer or rating caps. Jim |

Copplestone in their Darkest Africa line has 28mm sailors in both Sennet Hat and round cap and I think used to have a Nordenfelt but its not currently listed. Eureka have some with c.1900 pattern bandolier equipment and Lee Metford rifles/ |

Photos and prints show both cap and sennet hat being worn. Bought the Perry Sudan Naval Brigade for Zulu War only last week. Beautiful figures. Cheers Mark |
