Would appreciate any info on the availability of 1/32 scale figures. I am aware of the old GW Inquisitor range and do have a few, but want to expand my collection. Thinking of doing a virus/zombie outbreak setting. I do have some 54mm modern zombies but would also like to get old of some large mutant creatures. Carnifaxes again from GW to be utilised as well as the Dark Eldar Cronos Parasite Engine. Can anyone help with actual size. Would they look ok along side 54mm figures.

The old Airfix 1/32 figures are nice and still available – easily convertable, too – can't recall. I have loads that I converted into aliens, cyborgs and mutants many years ago.

The airfix SAS would be perfect for post-apoc.

Mars does some taliban in 1/32, italieri, revell and HaT have some suitable sets, too. There are loads here:

For weapon conversions, the tamiya sets are invaluable.

Many plastic animals, such as those by Safari, have perfect sized heads for mutant and alien conversions…I made hordes of 'em!

Have a good time mutilating and converting your soldiers!

Thanks Paul. I have seen these but had completely forgotten about them. They are slightly cartoonish in appearance however, or is that just me.

Spartan63 -- I have their Russian Cossack, Taras Bulba, and Peter the great Russian infantry sets.

They do look a bit cartoonish unpainted, but I like them.

They fit in quite well with Armies in Plastic 1/32nd scale figures.

No, it's not just you. But I figure that you are dealing with a limited selection in your chosen scale, so maybe they might be good conversion fodder if nothing else.

dBerczerk do they come already painted and if so could they easily be repainted. They appear quite stocky from the pictures I've seen of them.

Paul glad its just not me. I do like some of the range just wish I could see them in person before making a purchase.

Spartan63 -- mine came unpainted.

The Cossacks, Taras Bulba, and Caucus Mountaineer figures are cast in a metallic grey hard plastic. The Peter the Great Russian infantry are cast in a metallic blue hard plastic.

I've not yet painted mine, but the detail is quite nice.

The plastic is quite hard, and might not be very easy to cut up for conversions -- not like plastic army men -- more like model tank and aircraft kit polystyrene.

I can't speak for their fantasy figures, but the ones I have are not that stocky when compared with Armies in Plastic, Toy Soldiers of San Diego, or other 1/32nd scale plastic figures.
