Hi

Can anyone tell me how the BT-7A tanks were issued to front line units ? 1 Tank per co ? 1 platoon per battlion ? Were they kept as platoons or dispersed across the unit ?

TIA

Guthroth:
IIRC there was a platoon of three BT-7A in each tank battalion of BT's. Whether the platoon was broken up and parceled out to the four companies or kept together, I do not know. My three BT-7A's are kept together as a platoon for what it's worth.

and bear in mind that of those three, one is likely waiting on a vital part, and another will fail on the approach march…

And the third will throw a track at the most inopportune time!
