So, I bought a pdf from Heroic Maps on Wargames Vault, then built it with slightly raised walls. I apologize for the photo quality, I took it with my cell. But still you can see it makes a nice effect.

Wow, that is a nice effect, nice work!

Yes, the extra effort has really improved the original product!

Looking real good. Scotty would be proud.

That looks very good – well done

Wow. Very, very nice!

Is that PVC foam or foamcore?

That is great work. Looks much better than I thought it could. Heck I would do this if I didn't dive into The Dwarven Forge Kickstarter last year and this year.

Again, looks great, Xin

Out of curiosity, are your squares 1" or 1.5" in size? I chose 1.5" as I found the "heroic proportions" of today's miniatures just do not fit well in 1" spaces. The 1.5" size gives us a little more space without the extra dinging the miniatures take when next to each other.

Which map set is that? I couldn't find it on Wargames Vault.

Thanks, Xin

Wow, that is cool. Great idea.

It is Foamcore, the squares are 1", the set is:

I am currently still sitting on my first sheet of foamcore, so my current expense is less that $20 USD including Ink and Cardstock. I did raise some of the Dias's a bit using a bit of mattboard, though it is insanely difficult to work with compared to the foamcore.

Thanks for the link.

Glorious! Well done!

Gorgeous. I have a laser-cut shop buddy…and I was thinking of something along these lines. I currently have a giant stash of DF stuff though, but I think as a product it'd be very good. Very cool.

Thanks guys, been making a few more pieces, and I'll be doing more as time allows. If anyone sees any nice papercraft props let me know.

Stunning work. Looks great
What did you use to glue down the print to the foamboard? I've had mixed success doing this in the past: warpage and coming apart.

Cacique Caribe14 Sep 2014 4:29 p.m. PST

Can they be printed on sheets of adhesive label paper?

CC, yes they can, but it pushes the cost up quite a bit. Cheers!

I used a glue stick, nothing fancy, just avoid the purple ones as they don't stick as well.

I am actually starting a seperate project, while I really likes the idea and concept behind Heroic Maps tiles, I didn't like the graphics so much, they are nice, just not what I was looking for. So I got some licenses and worked out my own.

I'll be starting a seperate topic about it, but here is the preview tile.

Looking sharp. If you have the patience to design your own, you have the skill to do it.
