Hi guys, I'm about to solo test my Harran 1104 scenario. Harran is a complex battle to base a game on because both sides are trying to out 'ruse de guerre' the other. Consequently I've formulated some special scenario specific rules to help the scenario along. I've posted them here: link I'll post an AAR later this week. |

I've done this one a few times. I don't see the problem of Jekermish doing a wide flanking move, since the ford is the central, contested feature, and both sides are doing the "feigned flight" thing to each other. The Turks won by luring the Franks ACROSS the river first, thus precipitating their falling into ambuscades because of the pursuit, etc. Had the Turks crossed the river instead, the Franks would have met them with heavy cavalry charges from their own positions of concealment…. |
