The slope of the table is very interesting, how did you come up with those ideas for making it that way? As always some great looking mini's on that table! |

Impressive. Looked exciting, and rules looked very clever. Want to give them a once over. |

Wonderful stuff from a great blogger. |

Thanks chaps! Oldbob, it came in part from the Keren WW2 game put on by James Morris and the Newark crowd, and partly because I don't have storage for a large hill. Best, Simon |

That is a very busy table! Great how the video captured the very different look of the Roman and Macedonian armies – thanks for sharing |

I'm curious about the checker board formation for the Roman legion infantry. What is it representing? |

Thanks chaps. Marcus, the chequerboard represents the manipular nature of the Polybian Roman army, drawn up in their famous triplex axies (plus velites). In other games I've set them out in even smaller units, which gives a better impression of how the 120 man units must have appeared: link I had to simplify the look slightly for ease of play. Lovely. Magnesia next, you say!? |
BigRedBat | 10 Sep 2014 3:17 a.m. PST |
Hi Paul, Well I'm going to do Cremona again, bigger, at Salute and maybe something a bit special for May Partizan; perhaps Magnesia in 12 months time. Best, Simon |

Hi Simon Just catching up with what I missed. Shame that I was nt able to get to Partizan this year as I was in hospital. The pictures of the Pydna battlefield looked amazing. Beautiful painting from yourself, Keith and Craig as always. Stunning Phalanx line – the 48 man Phalanx units just looked great. Can't wait to see what you guys do next year. James |

Thanks James! I trust you are fully recovered. It was a great game. I'm thinking something relatively modest for Partizan, and something excessive for t'other Partizan. Right now I am trying to cope with an unexpected obsession: link Best, Simon |

Thanks Simon. Back to work today after two and half months off. Tired but fine. Nice start on French. Played good sized game of Black Powder on Saturday. Friend Dean fielded almost all his 28mm Napoleonics. I borrowed his French: 200 infantry and 50 cavalry for French & Spanish versus 300 infantry and dozen cavalry for Brits & Portuguese. Great fun even though lost. Am trying really hard to not get sidetracked and buy figures for new army until finished other projects. The Warlord Games late war French greatcoat Ligne / Legere are VERY tempting. Must resist! Look forward to seeing your progress. Cheers James |

@Ken: whereabouts in Leeds are you? I live towards Huddersfield but work in central Leeds. Couple of gaming clubs in Headingley. Cheers James |
