Has anyone come up with rules for La Haye Saite at Waterloo for Field of Glory Napoleonics? I ask because it was held by one battalion (500-600) men and the smallest FOGN unit represents about twice that.

Any thoughts?

How much more of the battlefield are you playing? If your game is just the farmhouse, what about doubling all the scales?

BTW, Adkin says the defenders were (never more than) "800 all ranks".

I am planning to do the whole battle of Waterloo. Hougomont is bigger (including the orchard) and seems to be less of a problem. But La Haye Sainte is smaller and held by a single battalion or so--the FOGN rules have a multi-battalion unit/regiment of 1200 to 2000 men as the smallest unit.

Any suggestions?

Around 2000 was the greatest number of attackers at any one time. So at the very least you want to make sure the garrison is outnumbered.

Adkin's figures for the actual fighting strength of the garrison: a very reduced 2nd Lt KGL battalion (300), 2 coys 1st Lt KGL (170), and 1 coy 5th KGL (85).

Any accommodation in the rules for half battalions or open order troops?
