Dear list

As a result of the previous post on "Objective Questions on Campaigns, and others, an interest group has been formed to study and work on getting together an International War Game (IWG) which is a game where players represent the kings of countries in the 18th century (or so) and handle the various aspects of war, economics, diplomacy, and social questions in their country.

Presently the interest group will be canvassing attitudes and ideas towards the formation of the game, no later than a year from now, or-- not-- if we can't get the project together. There is no cost for this, so it is not a "kickstarter" thing.

We will focus on design, inter-relationshps of countries, control forms and so forth.

This is NOT a place to get free stuff. We're only working with people who have had a passion for this type of game and it is very much an experiment to see if it can work.

Ahhh but if you form this group, can companies who have figures relating to this group offer figures to the members at a discounted price?

OSchmidt08 Sep 2014 6:47 a.m. PST

Dear Doug MSC

Why should they?

Figures have no bearing on the case, it's purely a campaign and does not envision resolution by table top action except in the rarest of cases?

In any case, the aim of the group is to try and hammer out a working game.

Well, I have some interest. What do I do?

Doug MSC Supporting Member of TMP08 Sep 2014 8:00 a.m. PST

OK, I understand. Its a system not using your figures.

Dear Doug MSC

I am not a figure manufacturer.

Doug MSC Supporting Member of TMP08 Sep 2014 8:35 a.m. PST

OSchmidt,

I'm sorry if I didn't word my comment right. I know your not a figure manufacturer. What I meant by "using your figures" was each person's own figures. Sometimes this type of communication can not come out right. Please accept my apology for it not being framed right.
What I meant was this is not a system that will produce miniature tabletop battles.

There already is such a game and in fact I just started playing in it.

OSchmidt08 Sep 2014 9:55 a.m. PST

Dear Doug

No problem.

It could be a game like that if you wanted, but right now we are not thinking of that.
