Painted some of the test prints for the PSC 15mm German Heavy Weapon Team crews… They go with the recently released Early War Infantry.

Dangit, Piers, you're killing me!

I can't get my 15s to look that good!

Though I gotta admit I'm amused by the bright flowers on your bases…

Skarper04 Sep 2014 9:36 p.m. PST

I think it evokes "Springtime for Hitler and Gerrrmany.."

If everybody had a flower instead of a gun…

Great film. Probably the 3rd funniest film of all time IMO.

PaK 36s as part of the heavy weapons :swoon:

Skarper05 Sep 2014 2:30 a.m. PST

The original is funny – always fall asleep during the recent remake. Some things just don't need to be 'remade'.

Griefbringer05 Sep 2014 2:35 a.m. PST

Besides the Pak 36, MG34 on tripod and flammenwefer, what else will there be? I guess at least 8 cm mortars.

Anti-tank rifles and 5 cm mortars were already covered by the previous early war German release.

PiersBrand05 Sep 2014 2:54 a.m. PST

There is the 80mm mortar and I got a set of what seems to be 75mm Infantry Gun crew to paint as well.

Dunno if that's all as I have only seen the test prints sent for painting and not the full renders.

lovely work Piers.

Mother! Whimper. Sigh.

Griefbringer05 Sep 2014 5:18 a.m. PST

Anti-tank guns, infantry guns and pioneers – sounds like that could cover most of the batallion or regimental assets in an early war infantry (or panzergrenadier) regiment.

Bellbottom05 Sep 2014 5:20 a.m. PST

very nice Piers, I really do like your work. Do you know if there are any extra closed/open ammunition boxes or loose rounds supplied for the guns or HMG

PiersBrand05 Sep 2014 6:00 a.m. PST

No idea Jarrovian as I aint seen the sprue renders yet… No doubt if there is room on the sprue that's just the sort of thing to fill it with!

Next time I speak to PSC I will ask…

Thanks Piers,
PS. give me as clue how you paint the helmet 'eagle' badges?. I can probably do the 'tricolour' badges by painting the colours too large and 'taking away' the excess paint to form the shield shape with field grey, but the eagle eludes me. Do you do a stylised eagle shape?

PiersBrand05 Sep 2014 9:10 a.m. PST

The tri-colour shield is actually easier to paint small, rather than over paint with grey.

The eagle is done with three vertical white lines, with the centre line lower than the side lines, if that makes sense!

Bellbottom05 Sep 2014 9:46 a.m. PST

Thanks Piers, yes, it makes sense. I was thinking of trying the eagle with a triangle of dots (point uppermost), and a vertical stroke for the tail.
