Hello, I'm starting to put together a Pagan Rus warband for SAGA and after watching Frozen with my daughter began having dark thoughts of a Frozen-themed warband. Anyone know off the top of their head 25m/28mm scale figures that could be painted up to look like the Frozen characters? I guess Elsa would be the main one, to be the Warlord. Would have to have these particular characteristics: – Female – Tall and Thin – Big chunky hair braid hanging over the left shoulder – Wearing long, off-the-shoulder sheath dress with long sleeves – Wearing mid-length cape/cloak – No gloves – Nothing in hands… no staff, sword, et cetera Any ideas? I was browsing the Elmore Masterworks figures and some come kind of close but they all have either a weapon or a staff in their hands. Maybe a modern figure might be better….

Great idea. There have to be suitably dressed Elven princesses out there. |

I don't know if you are going to find an exact match. Here are a couple of figs from Thunderbolt Mountain: link link |

Yeah those are not bad but I'm hoping to find something closer. I think the primary elements are the dress and the single big hair braid. The rest I can paint. If I was really motivated I could sculpt the braid out of green stuff, I suppose… hmm…. |

What about cutting the weapons away from Elmore/Darksword figures you do like? |
Zephyr40k | 03 Sep 2014 10:32 p.m. PST |
That is a definite possibility, Optional, but I've had some bad experiences with kitbashing in the past and prefer to be lazy whenever possible. Not that that'll stop me from spending many hours searching for Juuuuust the right figure. ;-) |

Hmm, tricky. For a sword-armed version (could be removed easily) with 2 braids, you might look at Svava from this Foundry set: link Hugh |

You know I m just remembering that someone does have an actual, metal "not" Elsa. Came out a few weeks ago. I can't remember though what board the thread was on. |

Is the braid really compulsory to 'look' Pagan Rus enough? YouTube link (Then I suspect she'd look more 'ancient' with two braids rather than almost free hair – and then could equally be Germanic-Norse Volva). PS: does SAGA provide rules for war elephants?

That is very cool, Abdul! Thanks. nnascati – Yes if you could recall where that was, I would appreciate it. I executed a few searches, to no avail. |

I've put in every term I can think of and nothing! Maybe it was pulled? |

Damn you Zephyr40K, now you've got me searching! I found a couple possibilities in the Hasslefree catalog - link link |

For reference… Photo blocked by adult filter: "picture" From here. link Maybe something in the Reaper catalog? I think the braid is a must. Otherwise you just have a shapely ubiquitous female miniature in a gown. |

So I've been looking! link The one on the left might work in this link. link |

Thanks all for your assistance… I tend to agree with you, Joker, the braid is a signature aspect of her look… which is why when Disney translated the character to live-action for the "Once Upon a Time" TV show, that was the one dominant visual feature they retained: link Only problem is, in the fantasy miniatures world, it seems the only people who wear their hair in big chunky braids are Dwarves. And that's just not gonna work… |

Hey Zephyr40k, did you get anywhere sourcing some 28mm figures? I've been tasked with finding an Elsa, Anna, Kristoff & Sven for Pulp Alley. |

Have you tried the toy stores? You might find one in a play set. That's where I found a Barney for my black powder fantasy Irish campaign (He is the high king and lives in a castle with the Barney Stone. Bob |

I saw this in the store the other day link Figures looked to be slightly larger than 28mm, but only a bit. |

Braids are easy to sculpt. Go for it. Is the braid really compulsory to 'look' Pagan Rus enough? Having a lot of that heritage myself, yes. The cartoon one is exaggerated for effect, but that's part of that particular style of cartooning. The above said, I would recommend Googling link snow queen illustration – Disney to get some better ideas for the warband. It's also nice to add a style descriptor to the end of that search like "Russian" or "art deco". |

Found out there's a chocolate egg by Zaini that contains a Frozen figure. Figures seem to be between 20mm to 30mm range. Photo blocked by adult filter: "picture" |
