Nice striking paint job.

Sorry for being picky but isn't it closer to reinforced company sized unit?
A company being around 100 figures, against battalion is around 300.

Regards

MMG.

You are being picky. It should be what ever makes zrunelord happy a battalion a company etc. Nice looking figures what ever you consider them.

Glad you like them :)
No problem Winston,I was going to call it Company at first MMg but I thought a company was smaller, my mistake :( … anyway just wikied & found this, good to know.

How long did it take? I have a similar sized force and
Serious painters block.

nice looking force, white is a hard color to make work (yours does imo)

Good but tough question Kozak1980,

I paint in fits & starts & paint various projects at the same time to avoid boredom.I also try to paint a number of similar minis at the same time,so as to use the same brush/colour or wash.I'd say it takes me around 2 to 3 hours to paint from start to finish + basing a squad of 10 to 12, but this totally depends on the technique & finished level. Some take less some take more and I don't paint in one go.

When I procrastinate I paint nothing or very little but when the muse kicks in I can paint quickly.

The above system works for me.
Try it,it might work for you also.Or try to plan for a game with a friend, that you have an incentive.

Grey sandable primer undercoat
White drybrush
Dark grey visor, boots, backpack & weapons,
Peat brown wash in creases only.
White highlight ( eg top of helm, forearms, knees etc )
Lighter grey highlight on grey equipment.
Touch of flesh , where showing.

So do the math that's around 25 – 30 hours.

Hope this helps.

That is a very nice job.. I think I will follow your lead and orders something along those lines… good promo for GZG ( not that they need it though being such a great outfit ! )

thanks for posting

Very cool looking force, the hover bikes are great, what's the blue on the one troopers shoulder armour? Rank markings?

zrunelord02 Sep 2014 3:57 a.m. PST

Thanks all for the comments.

Redroom – White is not such a hard colour to do, try it out like I outlined & you'll see.I haven't found the correct formula for Black though.I find it doesn't come out that convincing in 15mm even if you use dark blue etc. for highlights .

SeldonH – Indeed GZG needs no promo , I ended up with so many NSL because of the generous freebies from Jon during his December sale.Great service all round. His new NSL are great miniatures.I have my eye on his New NI next.
