Just posted an AAR of the game we played on Friday: link Rules used were Battlegroup: Fall of the Reich and we played in 28mm. Enjoy, Burkhard

Absolutely stunning game, and a great read! |

Lovely photos and game board. Those cows look way too calm (and alive) to be midst a WWII fire fight! Find a way to make them look worried and you will have hit a home-run! Rod Robertson |

Those 4 Ground buildings are gorgeous. I really do need to get some. Great looking terrian and a fun read. Thanks! Erik |

Beautiful game! Are you doing any mods to the rules for 28mm minis, or are you playing as written? |

Great game – but why are you rolling for initiative at the start of each turn? Is this a house rule or have I missed something fundamental? Cheers Nick |

Thank you all! @Rod: Well I have a couple of dead ones that I need to paint (and have been meaning to paint for some months now)… I guess those will look reasonably fitting for the battlefield! @Eric: Yes those 4Ground buildings are great. I just need to add some paint to them to mask the edges. @Lion in the Stars: No we are just playing them as they are.mat first we were a bit sceptical and thought about some modifications, but the more we play more we feel no changes are made. The only thing we are considering is making the assault range a little larger, but we only have had that twice so far, so it is too early to tell. Plus in those two cases those played out fine as well. @Nick: Honestly, it might be we are playing it wrong. It came up in a game those summer and we all were sure that we had to roll for initiative each round. But when we looked it up, we did not find it. Even if we do it wrong, it still feels alright playing it that way. So we might keep doing it that way anyway. Cheers, Burkhard |

Beautiful terrain and models! (Was it Johnny Reb that had rules for cow stampedes in random directions when the firing started?) |

What an amazing AAR…beautiful terrain…a great read and the photos are excellent with lots of action! 9/10 losing a mark with my only criticism is you need more cows…and I don't mean healthy ones…not even sick ones… You see I do love cows…as long as they're dead… Hard to see here but just check out those beautiful mo-cows in the back ground…all dead… I'm joking of course…I grew up in rural Ireland so I was surrounded by cows…heck I even had three sisters…

Hi Burkhard – nothing wrong with adapting rules. I was just intrigued as it sounds like a good idea that I may try myself. Cheers Nick |

@ War Panda: No worries, there will be dead cows! @ Nick: I did not take it as criticism, so no worries. Just need to find out the official interpretation for demo games now! |

No initiative roll per turn in BG… |
