This summer I visited the Franco-Prussian War battlefield of Woerth in Alsace. Inspired by my visit, I created this unit of attacking Prussians, as I imagine they would have looked coming up the hills west of Woerth in the hailstorm of French Chassepot fire. More pics of the unit and the battlefield on the blog: blackpowdergames.blogspot.se |

This is inspirational stuff -love the figs and the pictures are very informative/evocative. I had a look at the rest of your FPW stuff -that French skirmish line is excellent -where did you get the back packs from? I love the way you have based your figures in dynamic groups, very much as in the pictures you have chosen. Here is my take on the theme (apologies if you've seen these before) link |

Beautiful painting! Great to see a unit accurately painted (1st Battalion, 1st Grenadier Regiment, serving in First Corps, if I am not mistaken!), and with the right colour flagpole – Excellent! Mollinary |

Thank you all very much for the kind words. It's always a joy to share ones work with fellow period enthusiasts! @Mashrewba; I got the complete kit incl. back packs from Gringo40's – they're a little bit bigger than your average Foundry Franco-Prussians so I didn't mix, but certainly they're a great addition when based as a unit on their own. Great stuff on your Flickr – I like that you've based them like thin waves of attacking/skirmishing infantry. |
