Those have the look of Old Glory 25s. If they are, you appear to have filled/closed the windows instead of leaving them open. I did that with mine too. If those are Old Glory, did you make the chimney for the center building? I don't have that building but I don't remember any of the Old Glory Gangster buildings coming with a chimney. All very nicely done. Richard |

Looks great. I read that you were casting the walls yourself, but are the doors and windows cast too? And say isn't that Venexiana? Has she left Phantom Ace after Prince Aziz was captured by General Charnock? |

Hmm…these are nice buildings…who makes them? |

For those on a budget, I would recommend .pdf paper buildings. You can download usually very inexpensive files and print the buildings as often as you want. For Western buildings (many of which are still usable today), I suggest looking at Whitewash City (which even come with floorplans): link For "Medieval/Fantasy" or "Science Fiction" buildings, take a look at Dave Graffam models: davesgames.net Please note that the two suppliers listed above are also available from Wargames Vault, RPGNow, etc. I know that I've also seen some nice "Modern" paper buildings but I don't know where (not one of my periods). -- Jeff

For pulp you can use TVAG's Mean Streets – the pdfs are resonably inexpensive: link |

Someone else makes "modern" paper city buildings too . . . and I have seen them used for Superhero type games a number of times. Oh, and TVAG also has a line of Western paper buildings as well as Whitewash City. -- Jeff

@ Richard, Murphy -- Yup, those are made by Old Glory 25s. The chimneys are just something we added. @ drummer -- These are resin casts by Old Glory, not anything we made. Mila is doing most of the painting. Oh, I've been having so much fun writing new scenarios and rules for our fourth Pulp Alley book (Vice Alley) that I haven't had a chance to get Ace and Venexiana on the table. But I'm hoping to soon… Jeff -- Yes, indeed. We looked very seriously at doing paper buildings. There are some really cool sets out there. And my old Whitewash City stuff has held up fairly well through the years. Personally, I am a fan of Clever Models paper buildings. They are made for railroaders but the textures are stunning to look at. THANKS for all the comments, suggestions, and links! HAVE FUN Dave Pulp Alley |

I have tried the Microtactix Twilight Street samples, and both have the same problem: the back wall isn't as long as the front wall. This causes warpy assembly. I have yet to try assembling any of the Worldworks Swiftscenics high-rises, but I prefer their Western sets over the sample of Whitewash City I have, as the latter seems like a plan for scratchbuilding rather than something for which one should bother with a colour printer. Fat Dragons Rio Draco is also a decent set. |
