"The Weekend" 2015 will have a mini-campaign set in the 18th century between the Imagi-Nations of Europe and the Empire of Ikea. In this the Bey of Turhan, son of Shah-Nah-Nah, the Nattering Nabob of Negativism, ruler of Ikea has fallen passionately in love with the Princess Trixie of Saxe Burlap and Schleswig Beerstein. He engaged the international Banditi, Don DiDraino, to kidnap her and bring him to Constantinople and ensconced her in his harem, there to press his suit and plead his love for her. Meanwhile a coalition of forces from Saxe Burlap und Schleswib Beerstein, Flounce, Bad Zu Wurst, and half a dozen other states has raised an army to go and rescue the Ingenue princess.
The campaign game will take place across six table tops where the commanders of two armies will maneuver troops through a theoretical countryside from field to field attempting to win advantages and victory points in the various actions towards winning the campaign. Troops can march from camp to battlefield, battlefield to battlefield and so forth.
Individual characteristics of player characters, special opportunities and all those odd and silly events that are such a factor of Otto's games and Comic Operas will be in evidence.
The six battlefields will represent open plains, close dense back country, river crossing, strategic town, choke points etc. A bit of militaria, a bit of role playing, a bit of derring do, and lots of wine.
