What is the difference between the Piquet Barrage rules and Field of Battle WW1, apart from needing the main Piquet rules for Barrage and FoB WW1 being self contained? |

Barrage uses the original Piquet initiative method (D20 vs. D20), which is more "uncontrolled" than some prefer. Barrage is stand alone – you don't need any additional set of rules to use it, as it includes the modern core set of rules with it. It uses a different game scale than FoBWW1, which is aimed at the base unit being a battalion of multiple stands. FoBWW1 uses an equal initiative method, and a different take on movement and initiative cards. While they're in the same family, they are more like cousins than brothers. In general, I'd say that FoBWW1 plays a bit faster, and can handle any size of game with multiple players. But, Barrage has much more OOB material, and a bit more chrome. As I said, similar but different! Brent |

I could understand the artillery rules in FoB WWI. But that's just me |

Hi ShellDrake, Not sure if you have been to my Barrage website, but this will give you more info on Barrage, but not FoBWW1. As far as D20 initiatives you can modify the impetus rules slightly without altering the fun of the game. link Cheers Eric Burgess |
