Not again, Did they ever build another replacement Whitehouse? Or did they learn a lesson from 1814?

It was a nice report. I liked that one reorted said she was imbedded with the British army.

One sidelight. The evening the fire was started in Washington a huge storm came through Washington (with tornado) and put out the fires. The tornado killed a few British soldiers.

Suposedly the executive mansion was repaired and painted white to cover up the burn damage (i.e. Whitehouse)

W-There were no Canadian troops in the Chesapeake campaign, or maybe I am misunderstanding.

No Canadians, all Peninsula veterans. In spite of what Canadians like to think.

John the Greater25 Aug 2014 1:24 p.m. PST

Most of the reenactors on Saturday were Canadians. The actual participants were mostly veterans of the Peninsula.
