Just posted a few images on the website home page of the new Italian allies.

I am really pleased with how these have come out and have been feverishly sticking figures together and doing a few conversions as well. I will post more on those next week.

All 3 Republican Roman sets are now on release and we will have an update next week on the progress of the Carthaginian infantry we are working on.

Just got to get some of these painted now!

Steve.

Stunning. Setting a new benchmark.

Great work on these Steve and handy suggestions about conversions to Italian Carthaginian allies – add a hoplon to the Triarii and you have yourself some Campanian hoplites.

Wondering about transfers – will existing ones (ie Samnites) in the range fit?

Is the makeup as for the Romans by the way, ie 36 heavies and 18 lights plus command?

May have to add a box to the Carthaginian order.

Hi Garry,

Yes it is the same quantities of figures in this set. 36 legionaries and 18 lights plus command figures. However if you look at the image I posted I have used some of the light infantry and added scutums and helmets to make un-armoured Italians. If you swapped out the scutum for a smaller oval or smaller round shield and use a javelin you have Oscan un-armoured troops. I am converting a unit of Campanian Hoplites at present. I have used Hoplons from the Greek sets plus swapped some Greek legs with Greaves and some arms and heads. I have 16 done so far and it is looking like a really dynamic unit. If only I did not have to sort some orders this bank holiday I could get them finished!

Regards,

Steve.

Wow. It seems you have created endless possibilities for mixing between the various boxes.

I do like this set and also like the Legion set. For some reason really didn't like the Command set that much, not sure why?

If you purchase the army deal, with free shipping, do you get free shipping for your entire order (such as shield transfers or other individual boxes)?

Thanks Steve. Good idea about the unarmoured Italians.

Very nice figures Steve, unfortunately none of them are a Stuka or a Typhoon

I have a small(ish) Republican Roman force I use with Basic Impetus which I would like to expand. My figures are almost all Renegade (they used to do some wonderful army deals, 4 for 3 regiments etc) but these figures are no longer available. Can anyone tell me if the Victrix Plastics would fit in with Renegade figures?

STEVE LBMS02 Dec 2014 8:06 a.m. PST

Renegade Miniatures have just announced they are back in production, so your lucks in!

The Victrix Romans area bit slighter in proportion with the Renegade figures which are chunkier so would not mix in the same unit I don't think. Separate units may work?

Steve,
The figures are very nice. I only wish that those in a bell breast plate had pteruges, I think the breast plate looks a little strange without them, though I see the Carthaginians will have them with theirs, so I guess all is well, even if I wish the Roman figures had them as well.

Its awesome to not only have such great figures in plastic, but to have such variety in the individual sets, and the choices between the three sets.
